Western Region Queens supports Prisons Service with food and medical supplies

Queen Mothers in the Western Region have donated packets of food and medications to the Western Region Prison Command to support the upkeep and wellbeing of inmates. The donation worth fifteen thousand (GHC15,000.00) was handed over to the Western Region Prisons Command for onward distribution to other reform centers in the region.

Paramount Queen Mother of the Western Nzema Traditional area, and President of the Western Region Queen Mothers Association, Awulae Nda-Bozoma II who presented the items indicated that inmates require the best of care especially in this trying times. She promised on behalf of the council, to make available additional supplies when the need arises.

“Its not a time event. If God permits we will continue to bring more. We need them to be fit when they come back to their home” she noted.

Deputy Director of Prisons, who is also the Commander of the Western Region Prisons Command, Mark Agbosu who received the items on behalf of the prison service, said the gesture was just the support they required.

He however urged other benevolent individuals and groups to emulate same.
