Western Region COVID-19 rocketing with 52 cases, 1 death
The Western Region’s case count for COVID-19 has shot up from yesterday’s 38 cases, to 52.
The Regional Health Directorate in its latest report on the disease, said a patient with an underlining medical condition (asthma and hypertension) has passed on.
The fourteen (14) new cases are from Tarkwa Nsuaem, Sekondi-Takoradi and Effia Kwesimintsim.
According to the Deputy Regional Health Director in charge of Clinical Care, Dr. Atsu Dodor, most of these patients are asymptomatic.
The Regional Surveillance Team have so far identified a total of 1596 contacts of the infected persons.
Only one person has fully recovered.
