The Western Region has recorded a total of one thousand three hundred and fifty-eight (1,358) COVID-19 patients having recovered and discharged from the various isolation centers across the region.
The region has since the outbreak recorded one thousand, four hundred and twenty-nine (1,429) cases of COVID-19, and unfortunately three patients have lost their lives to the virus. This brings to total sixty-eight (68) active cases in the Western Region.
The Regional Health Directorate in their published surveillance report, noted that the region despite being considered a hot spot have managed to control the pandemic to a greater extent.
An enhanced routine surveillance had been in place to quickly identify, isolate and manage any suspected or confirmed cases. All the thirteen (13) districts in the Western Region have prepared an isolation center where these patients are being managed.
To date, the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis tops the chart with a total of 535 confirmed cases, followed by the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal with 445 cases.
All other districts, except the Amenfi Central have recorded cases of the novel coronavirus.
