Western Region: 12 Districts hit with 106 suspected COVID 19 cases

A total of 106 suspected COVID 19 cases have been recorded in 12 districts of the Western Region, a report from the Health Directorate has detailed.

The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality top the list with 33 suspected cases with only 15 out of it testing negative, the rest are pending. Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis follows with 22 suspected cases and has lab-test confirming negative to the virus, for 15 samples taken. The remainder is still pending.

The Western Region Health Directorate reports that only 64 test have been taken of the entire 106 suspected cases, and all came out negative, with 42 samples awaiting testing at Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research. The region has not recorded any positive case yet.

As at today, a total of 103,573 persons have been screened in the Western Region. None of these persons according to the report, had temperatures above or equal to 38 degrees Celsius
