Bechem and Karela completed their GPL Matchday 26 on Monday at Nana Fosu Gyabour park where it ended 1-1 draw after 90 minutes and some 11 minutes of additional time.
Karela became the third team to pick a point at Nana Fosu Gyabour this season, Karela played the last 14 minutes with a man down but was able to pick a point.
After the game, Bechem United head coach Kasim Mingles Ocansey said Karela played well in the first half but refused to play in the second half, speaking during the post-match interview, he indicated that the game lasted for only 30 minutes in the second half and the rest of the minute was used to fake injury and delay tactics by Karela which does not help the game
Kobi-Mensah debunked those statements when speaking on Skyy Sports Show, he said it’s never true that Karela came into the second half to delay the game.
“I have to refer him, they got the first goal here at Karela and their goalkeeper went down more than five times so we went there with a game plan and not do play to suit them, why should you think your opponent must play to suit you, I’m not your mate”.
He further said Karela stand a chance to be in the top 4 per the remaining matches to end the season, ” we have eight games to go and Karela has five home games and three away games, you know we are very strong at home as well”.
Karela will be hosting debutant Bibiane Gold Stars this weekend at CAMS Park in MatchDay 27 of GPL
