Cape Coast-based football club Venomous Vipers is on the verge of securing qualification to the division one league after two seasons of absence.
The club was relegated some 3 seasons ago with clubs like proud united and Nana Appiah Mensah’s Star Madrid in the division one league zone 2.
The club then accumulated 30 points out of the 30 matches played that eventually placed them on the 15th position in the 2020/2021 season.
Venomous Vipers has currently won two out of two games in the ongoing Central Region super middle league.
Having beaten Krodua All-Stars in their first game by 3-1 and Bright Stars by 3-1 has propelled them to the quarter-final stage of the middle league.
This year’s central region middle league is being staged at the Robert Mensah sports stadium in cape coast and clubs like Betenase United , Apam City FC, Winneba, Krodua FC and others are competing for the only slot to represent the region in division one level.
Speaking to Coach Ike on west gold radio and Skyy Power FM in Takoradi, Mr John Arthur who is a member of the communications team of the Central Region Football Association and also a member of the competitions committee believes the middle league has been very competitive. Teams like Vipers and Betenase United have shown signs of determination but it’s early days yet to determine which club will gain the slot.
