Upgrading of Effia Nkwanta Hospital into Teaching Hospital to begin 2020- Minister

Western Region Minister Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has hinted that the upgrading of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital into a teaching hospital will begin next year.

The minister stressed that the execution of that project will be a fulfillment of the hospital’s 2025 Vision.

“…the Effia Nkwanta [as its popularly known] upgrade into a teaching hospital, as captured in the 2025 Vision of the Effia Nkwanta Hospital will start next year.

“And I want to assure you, as a major step forward, the accommodation needs, the children’s hospital you want to create, and all the other units you want to create will be on board. Next year, government is going to start this project” Dr. Okyere Darko Mensah stated in his address during the commission of the Dialysis Unit for the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, yesterday.

He continued that “government is aware of the deplorable nature of some of our major health facilities in the region and the country as a whole and is committed at addressing them”
