Tullow Ghana limited, the lead operator of Ghana’s jubilee field has successfully refurbished the Takoradi Airport Apron and handed it over to the Ghana Air Force. The entire Takoradi Airport Tarmac required the reconstruction of an area of 22,622 square meters with wide range excavations. To this end, through its strategic investment, Tullow Ghana has completed the rehabilitation of almost 5,000 square meters of the tarmac, with 4,980m of road network. The refurbished apron has been certified for environmental health and safety standards, and thus provides a larger parking space for larger airplanes, helicopters and additional aviation services. It also ensures a seamless transition of passengers to and from the aircraft, and improves accessibility for all who utilize the Takoradi airport.
