Transport fares to reduce by 10% effective May 17

Road Transport Operators have announced that they will be reducing transport fares by 10 per cent to accommodate for the reduction in the price of petroleum products observed over the period.

The new fares take effect from Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, and the new fares will cover shared taxis, Intra City (trotro), InterCity (Long Distance), and haulage.

Even though road transport operators in the capital Accra have made their new fares available, the Western Region Public Transport Operators are yet to make their new fares available.

Mr Joseph Simons Cudjoe, the Western Region chairman for the GPRTU made this known said in an interview on the Jolly Breakfast Show (JBS) on Skyy Power FM.
