An accident involving multiple vehicles at Fijai in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis has put four persons in critical conditions.
The accident which occurred on the main Fijai Efiankwa road involves a water tanker, a private vehicle, and a payloader.
Information available on our desk indicates, the water tanker vehicle with registration number WR 8168 C, was conveying water from the direction of Fijai to Efiankwanta when it had a tyre burst.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with an oncoming private car. The two vehicles crashed a payloader and all the three vehicles settled into an electrical shop.
The driver of the water tanker and his mate are currently in critical condition and have been conveyed to the Efiankwanta Regional Hospital for treatment.
Two other persons who were in the electrical shop have also sustained various degrees of injuries. Some eyewitnesses spoke to our news team and blamed the water tanker vehicle driver for the accident.
Public relations officer for the Ghana National Fire Service in the Western Region DO2 Emmanuel Bonney tells us it took the intervention of his outfit to save the situation.
