George Kuntu Blankson (President), Joseph Mensah Oti-Asirifi (Secretary) and Samuel Osei-Bediako (Treasurer) are three out of a nine-member team tasked to superintend the activities of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) in the Western Region for the next two years. This follows the inauguration of the Western Region branch in a magnificent ceremony at the lush Naakof Hotel in Takoradi over the weekend.

Other members of the leadership are Andrew Ekow Essilfie, Vice Chairman, Kweku Sagoe, Assistant Secretary, Stephen Kwame Yeboah, Organizer, Amy Fynn-Thompson, Welfare Officer, Yaw Kyei Baffour, Member, Omar Salifu Sanda, Member and James Kojo Bawa Anderson, Member

Known as the longest serving sports journalist in the Western Region, ‘Prof’  Kuntu Blankson, is currently the head the sports department of Westgold 106.9, a subsidiary of Skyy Media Group, and the host of the Super Sports Morning Show.

Joseph Mensah Oti-Asirifi, who joined Skyy Media Group in 2017, is the head of sports at Skyy Power FM and the host of the exhilarating ‘Skyy Sports Show’, a late evening sports programme aired on between 6:30pm and 8:30pm Monday to Thursday.

Samuel Osei-Bediako aka Jam Master Caesar, is household name within the Western media landscape having worked with Skyy Media Group for two about decades. He is a long-standing member of the sports desk and currently, the host of ‘The Global Countdown’, the biggest Friday night jam in the Metropolis.

The Skyy Sports podium is one of the biggest production platforms in Ghana in terms of HR, having produced the likes of Yaw Korankye, Uncle Opia, Tony Nkrumah-Boateng, Elleony Amande, Lawton Dadzie, Ambrose Akavani, Kojo Frimpong(Shakes),Kwesi Essel Erasmus Kwao, Kwabena Obeng Afriyie, Philip Osei Bonsu, Kwame Yeboah, Israel Fordah, Benjamin Aboagye, Wisdom Fiifi Agbleke etc. Paul Anyaba (Ancestor) and Michael Asare Boadu are the immediate past brains to have gone through the 1920 West Fijai House.
