The NSA Boss, aside from his haughtiness, egotism and pomposity, has done so many things that should have seen him booted out of office long ago but because of party politics, he’s still in office.
Now, Ghana faces the danger of playing a VERY BIG decisive game with Nigeria on neutral ground if CAF does not approve Cape Coast.
Before a game is played at a venue, per CAF regulations, u need to submit your venue 90 days before the kickoff date. The GFA did and the NSA was aware.
Yet, the NSA went ahead and accepted for the 6th March Independence Day event on the pitch, 21 days to the game date. And the pitch turned to a potato farm. We chose 6th March over qualifying for the World Cup.
So if CAF, after today’s inspection in Cape Coast, with the last scheduled for next week, does not approve the Cape Coast Stadium for the game, Ghana can only play at Baba Yara on a ‘Special Dispensation’ appeal. But what will that dispensation be? 6th March? ?
Now, one may ask why Baba Yara was not submitted as an alternative. At the time of submitting the venue, Baba Yare was in a sorry state. And even now, if we are to be strict, it’s only the picture that looks good there. The dressing rooms and washrooms are something else. So the FA submitted only Cape Coast.
Accra Sports Stadium too, ‘pitch no nny3.’ Tamale too, same and for Essipong, not at all.
So the NAA knowing Cape Coast is the only possible venue, should have protected it. In any case, why at all did they release those photos after the 6th March? What were they seeking to achieve?
If FIFA does not give Ghana a special dispensation and goes strictly by the regulations, we may play against Nigeria ?? outside Ghana ?? .
When that happens, clap for the NSA!
