Sekondi is peaking, innovative and transformative minds needed to enhance dev’t- NPP Parliamentary Aspirant

An aspiring Parliamentary candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party for the Sekondi Constituency, Elvis Blankson has opined that the new era of development for the constituents require an innovative and transformative thinker, who can exploit opportunities for job creation, and inclusive development.

In his view, the spatial and infrastructure development of Sekondi is peaking, and that the need to concentrate on the human capacity development and jobs.

He spoke exclusively to Skyy News on the difference he seek to make with his election as a parliamentary candidate for the party and hopefully the people’s representative for Sekondi.

“Sekondi is not a city that you’re not going to lobby for a road, electricity, water… these are basic infrastructures and it has been provided by successive governments. What we need now is a leader who thinks outside the box, who will be able to bring transformation and bring the glory of Sekondi in those days back.

“The youth when you go to Sekondi are always loitering not having jobs. So my focus and my vision is going to lobby and bring investors to Sekondi where we can create jobs, build capacity for the youth so that they will be employed. The youth need employment. And that’s what I’m going to focus on coming in” he elaborated.

Mr. Blankson promises to unite the party in the constituency as he feared the divisiveness might end them in opposition.

“I’m bringing on board total inclusiveness that there wouldn’t be faction. So we are bringing everybody together so that we can have a unified party that will enable us to go and retain the seat” Mr. Blankson added.

Mr. Elvis Blankson is the only contender to the incumbent Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Agyapa Mercer, for the coming parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party.
