SDA Church in Sekondi-Takoradi launches Silver Jubilee
The South-West Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church over the weekend launched its silver jubilee and homecoming at its headquarters in Sekondi on Saturday, January 7.

The historic and colourful event was attended by almost all district pastors and elders at the Conference.
Addressing the congregation, the president of the conference, Pastor Yaw Adeefe Kwakye outlined the program lineup for the entire celebration. The president explained that the anniversary would be climaxed in December at Takoradi.
He applauded his dedicated and selfless staff and recognized some pioneers whose hard work and dedication had brought light to the Conference.
He added that the South-West Ghana Conference was born in December 1997 with six thousand members, 8 districts and 9 ministers from the then Southern-Ghana Conference. The membership as of the third quarter of 2022 stands at twenty-three thousand, six hundred and forty-two, as well as twenty-four ministers.

As a sign of growth, the President explained that the Conference has added six new districts and established two new administrative fields. These fields are the West-Central Ghana Conference [Tarkwa], and the Western North Ghana Conference [Sefwi].
He paid tribute to his predecessors who have loyally served the institution over the past 25 years.

Elder Nana Bentum, Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee mentioned that the theme, “Celebrating 25 years of God’s Goodness: Keeping the Faith Alive” was chosen because the Good Lord has been so gracious towards the conference.
He added that the climax of the anniversary celebrations will be on December 2, 2023, and advised the brethren to continue to be steadfast and immovable for the Second Coming of Christ Jesus.
