Radio Gets Results: Two Brand New Ventilators Delivered To Effia Nkwanta
Western Region’s radio station, Skyy Power FM, through its Ventilator Project, has been able to deliver to the only referral centre in the Western Region, Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital two brand-new ventilators to support the hospital’s effort to deal with the novel coronavirus pandemic and other illnesses that will require that patients be placed on ventilators.
The hospital appealed to the radio station to help it secure a ventilator in the height of the coronavirus pandemic when the hospital was without a single ventilator. The station, through its Management, embarked on a campaign to secure a ventilator for the hospital. The campaign was supported hugely by the people of the Western Region who went the extra mile to contribute their widow’s mite to the campaign.
Many sent their contributions the very first day the Medical Director for the Hospital, Dr Joseph Tambil mentioned on the station’s news analysis show; News-Review that the Regional Hospital was without a single ventilator. This continued and hundreds of people gave willingly.
But two leading companies in the region; Carmeuse Limestone and Monpe Heavy Haulage Ltd, having followed the generosity being displayed by the people of the region and upon a plea by Management t of Skyy Power FM, moved to buy a ventilator each to support the campaign.
Just last week the brand-new ventilators were delivered to the hospital and awaiting awaiting commissioning.
Management of Carmeuse Limestone Ltd, who inpected the biomedical equipment expressed their deepest appreciation to Skyy Media Group for leading such a project
General Manager for the company, Mr. Dadzie praised the hospital management led by Dr Joseph Tambil for honouring their word.
On his part, Dr. Tambil commended Skyy Media Group for championing the fund raising campaign to procure these ventilators.
