The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has hinted that work on the most anticipated 3-tier PTC interchange will commence in the coming weeks. According to him, the project engineers are almost about finalizing their designs and modifications to enable them to start physical works.
He stressed that the construction firm had already deployed its machinery awaiting final designs to guide their operations.
“Usually before sod-cutting, you do preliminary designs and so after it, a detailed design is prepared for the actual work. And that is what we are currently doing.
“They have deployed their machinery, drones have been used for aerial assessment, and measurement.”
The Regional Minister disclosed that the project site will be prepared within the week to enable them to initiate construction works.
“So if anyone wishes to know when work on the project will kick start, they should expect the billboard at the center removed…and you will see that they will be bringing the machines this week. When that is done, construction work will resume.”
He reiterated that the dualization of the Takoradi-Tarkwa road will follow suit as the government had secured the funding for that project.
