Parliament will today [Monday] commence its customary debate on the government’s 2020 budget statement and economic policy, presented before the house by Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta last week.
Last week, the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta’s presentation communicated government’s intention to generate some GHS 67.1 billion in revenue next year. It also declared the year 2020 as the year of roads.
Conspicuously missing from the list regions to benefit from the ambitious road projects and other infrastructural list, was the Volta Region.
However, following public backlash, the Finance Minister presented an updated version of the budget statement and economic policy before the house on Friday to include roads in the region.
Meanwhile Parliament has already begun the its post budget workshop to deliberate on the 2020 budget.
