Oguaa Fetu Afehye receives MTN Ghana’s support

Its become phenomenal of Ghana’s Telecommunication giant; MTN Ghana in its deliberate effort in promoting cultures and tradition in the country. Each year more than half a hundred of festivals are given some financial, material and other support to enhance residents and travellers’ experience of rich Ghanaian festivities.

This time, as an annual commitment, the company has set to itself to sponsor the Oguaa Fetu Afahye of the Oguaa Traditional Council.

MTN Ghana, today, presented a cheque of ten thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 10,000), airtime worth GHC 1000.00, and drinks Hamper worth over GHC1000.00, to the Omanhene, chiefs and elders of the Oguaa Traditional Council, to support this year’s festival.

Senior Manager, South West Business District of MTN Ghana, Prince Owusu Nyarko during a presentation of these gifts noted that “MTN will support the organization of the Durbar, Street Carnival and the Afahye Y’ello Market”

“We hope our support in these areas would help make this year’s celebration a grand one. We will ensure that during the festive period, our products and services are available for all. We encourage you all to share pictures and memories of the celebrations with your families and friends through WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms available. There are a lot of beautiful sights and sounds that can be captured and shared with the rest of the world. We look forward to sharing these stories” he added.

Commenting on the theme for the 2019 Oguaa Fetu Afahye; “Restoration of our heritage: a key to tourism and development”, Mr Owusu Nyarko remarked that the theme must ignite a positive mindset among residents to explore business opportunities.

“The theme for this year’s celebration, ‘Restoration of our heritage: a key to tourism and development is well placed’. It is of no doubt that when we are able to restore our values as Africans, it will creates jobs, new business opportunities, and strengthen local economies. It protects natural and cultural resources, which improve the quality of life for residents and travelers who participate in the services and attractions” Mr Owusu Nyarko emphasised.

He also entreated Ghanaians to transact more on the MOMO platform as some amazing prizes are being won in its MOMO at 10 promo every month.
