NPP Sympathizers root for Wilson Arthur as parliamentary candidate for Wassa East
Thousands of party faithful and sympathisers of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Wassa East Constituency of the Western Region are rooting for Hon. Wilson Arthur, as the parliamentary candidate for the 2020 general elections.
The group; NPP Sympathisers of Wassa East, on Tuesday 30 July, 2019 are praying and calling on all members of the NPP in the constituency to support the nomination and candidature of Hon. Wilson Arthur for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The group have taken a bold step to pick nomination forms for Mr. Wilson Arthur, trusting he would reclaim political power from the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah, who is of the opposition National Democratic Congress.

Mr. Wilson Arthur is the District Chief Executive for Wassa East, under whose leadership, the district has witnessed unprecedented transformation; an enviable yet model district among others in the Western Region and Ghana at large; Convener for the group, Samuel Amoah told Skyy News’ Nana Yaw Kumi.
“As the adage goes; one good turn deserves another; and considering the great work done by the Hon. DCE, there’s no doubt that he will be the best representative for Wassa East in the next parliament” Mr Samuel Amoah argued.
He disclosed that some significant achievements notably; the redevelopment of St. Martins Park into a FIFA standard sports stadium, with a personal investment of more than GH300,000.00, established the Skyy FC, a Division One club to harness local talents, and thus placed the District among sport developing centers in the country.
“With his influence and insight, as the Chair of the Western Region Sports Committee, Mr Wilson Arthur has through the Wassa East District Sports Unit, institutionalized a new District Footbal Association to run a Third Division and Colts League Competition in Wassa East from 2020” he added.
Mr Amoah continued that Hon. Wilson Arthur’s incomparable leadership has facilitated the establishment of three factories; a quarry by Al-Mega, edible palm oil, and a starch factory in the district.
“These factories are at varying degrees of completion and is expected to create thousands of jobs for the unemployed youth, and better the local economy” Mr Amoah noted.
He recounted that some strategic human capacity development have been aggressively pursued by Hon. Wilson Arthur in education and skill training, so as to improve the standards of the district.
In mining and agriculture; “about 56 youth have been trained as mining guards and monitoring officers under the community mining programme, whiles two are enrolled as drone pilots under the IMCIM mining project”
Mr Samuel Amoah, on behalf of the group appealed to party members to reward Hon. Arthurs’ hard work by endorsing his nomination and ultimately voting for him in the coming elections.
