Ghanaian actress, Miss Lydia Forson has hit hard at government after the Finance Minister, Mr. Ken Ofori appealed for funds during the Mid-Year budget review at parliament on Thursday, July 29.
Mr. Ken Ofori Attah appealed on behalf of the government for citizens to contribute to the building of the cathedral through fund raising effort.
According to the Finance Minister, the government has acquired a short code which citizens can donate an amount of GHS100 towards the building of the cathedral.
However, this statement from the Minister has shocked many Ghanaians including Miss Lydia Forson as she disclosed that, among the many problems in the country that a fundraising can be conducted to solve, it is rather towards the building of a cathedral which brings nothing to the Ghanaian economy.
Miss Forson said on twitter, “Did I just hear that our government wants us to do susu for a cathedral THEY wanted and not us??!! Not susu for hospitals oh Not susu for roads killing people everyday Not susu for students learning under trees oh SUSU FOR A CATHERAL!!”
