Takoradi: Nigerian in ‘Abenbebom child sexual abuse’ case given bail
A Nigerian national accused of inserting his penis into the mouth of a four year old girl at Apremdo, Nathaniel Chuku also known as Oga, has been granted bail by the Gender and Juvenile Court in Takoradi.
‘Oga’, who has been on remand since August this year after failing to meet the bail bond, is standing trial for luring the 4 year old girl into his shop at ‘Abenbebom’, a loading terminal for trucks at Apremdo, and inserting his manhood into her mouth. He has since been charged with indecent assault. He will reappear in court on Wednesday 20 November, 2019.
Counsel for the accused, Ebo Donkor pleaded with the court to review the bail since it’s a case of misdemeanor. The presiding judge, Mrs. Abena Oppong Agyin Doku upheld the plea, and allowed for three sureties.
Meanwhile, Lawyer Ebo Donnkor alleges the police has been threatening the three people who stood in as sureties for the accused. He told Skyy News’ Nana Yaw Kumi in an interview that the police went to the residence of these people, and threatened to arrest them if they fail to produce the accused in the next court sitting.
