The National Insurance Commission (NIC) has donated some items to the Axim Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service in the Western Region to aid in its service delivery.
The items donated according to Mr Justice Peprah the Western Regional Manager of the NIC were body bags, gloves and reflectors.
He said these are some of the basic and important things the police service lacks when carrying out its operations which he believes will go a long way to help service delivery.
Also, the Axim Divisional Command and the NIC embarked on a highway exercise to inspect the validity of the insurance of some vehicles on the road.
He said, “The police often lack materials when embarking on their duties and we have realised that one of the things they lack most is the body bags, gloves and reflectors which we are providing for them to carry out their duties fruitfully.”
He also said it is important for drivers to have a third-party insurance policy as pedestrians, passengers and victims will be compensated from insurance companies.
Mr Justice Peprah added that it is important for passengers to check if the vehicle they are partonising are insured.
“Third-party insurance is very necessary and important, especially for drivers, pedetrians and passengers, incase of any an accient, it protects the victims and also relieves the victims of any cost which the insurance will take care of it.”
“Passengers must also be sure if the vehicle they are patronising has a third-party insurance policy in case of any accident, they are covered by the policy.”
