Minister for Railway Development, Joe Ghartey says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is unperturbed by the insults and lies spewed by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) about his leadership and the Akufo- Addo led administration. He said that his party, is a respectable political party, and that shall not resort to the ‘uncivilized’ approach taken by the opponent in their campaign for political power.
Joe Ghartey who is also the Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan Constituency said the NDC in their desperation for political power had been raining verbal and personal attacks at him and the NPP. He indicated that the constituents are discerning enough to differentiate between himself and others who employ deception to lure them to vote and support their candidature. He shared that, his opponent in the NDC and her team will be dismayed by the results of the polls come December 7.
He exclaimed that the reward for their incessant verbal attacks and lies will be delivered by the thumbs of the electorates on Election Day.
“They came with insults and lies but I said to myself that, this will not be my style. They can do their worse…insult us from here to Accra, and we won’t insult them back. We in the NPP don’t insult. We bring about good governance and that is our hallmark.
“But we will insult them once…and that will be by our thumbs. This will be our response to them on December 7.”
He made these remarks on a campaign platform in Kojokom after his ‘Nyame Aye’ Health Walk yesterday. Mr. Ghartey hints that the elections will deliver a grand victory onto him, to once prove how rewarding the constituents are for the work he’s done over the years. He indicated that a margin of over twenty thousand (20,000) votes will be realized, “God willing by close of the polls on December 7”
The Parliamentary Candidate for Kwesimintsim, Dr. Prince Armah, who was a guest speaker at the event, charged constituents of Essikado-Ketan not to be lured by deceptive agenda orchestrated by the opposition party to vote against the incumbent Member of Parliament.
Dr. Armah said it would be of dire consequences if the electorates forgo Joe Ghartey who he described as a gem, for the NDC’s candidate. He argued that the constituency has the best of a candidate and leadership in Joe Ghartey than any other they can wish for.
