Nana Addo has failed in honouring campaign promises- NDC

The opposition political party; National Democratic Congress (NDC) says the Nana Addo led governments has performed abysmally in fulfilling its 2016 promises it made the Ghanaian people.

The NDC in their weekly press briefing today held at the Alisa Hotel on the theme; “NPP 2016 Manifesto in Perspective; Claims, Deception and Reality” have dissected various sectors of the economy related to their rival’s political manifesto.

Touching on Agriculture, the North Tongu Legislator, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stressed that NPP’s abysmal performance in unparalleled, given conditions it inherited from the Mahama led government.

He rated in his presentation that the current government had failed to fulfill a whopping 82 percent of what it promised for the agricultural sector.

He assessed that most of what was documented in the New Patriotic Party’s manifesto has been nothing but a deception , even to the traditional authorities, whom it promised to make an integral part to its agricultural modernisation policy.

In respect of cocoa production which the NPP government promised to improve yield or production to a million tonnes, the data as presented by Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa reveals that production has dip from 969,000 tonnes on 2017 to 811,125 tonnes representing a cumulative percentage fall of -10.3.
