He stressed that the company reveres these traditions and that has committed to supporting them in various means.

“As an African Multinational, the management of MTN Ghana deem it appropriate to support our African culture and heritage through the celebration of Traditional festivals. Festivals project a lot about the African society and are considered an integral part of the African culture. We identify with this heritage and in view of this, we come in each year to support with cash and kind donation to make the festival memorable for the indigenes and revelers” Mr Owusu Nyarko stated.

Commenting on the theme for the festival, Prince Owusu Nyarko indicated that festivals provides an opportunity to enhance local economies through tourism, and other businesses.

“The theme for this year’s celebration, “Portraying our Awutu Culture for development” cannot be over emphasized. “This year has been declared the Year of Return by the Government and some activities have been organized to include our traditional festivals. As a good corporate citizen with its roots from Africa, we find it prudent to support the activities that will make the year of Return a memorable one. Aside the Awutu Awubia Festival we will support over 30 traditional festivals across the country” he noted.

He entreated customers and the local people to make this year’s festival a memorable one by sharing pictures, videos and other media via social media platforms, with the families, friends and the rest of the world.

He also entreated the people of the Awutu Traditional Area to transact more with MOMO so as to maximize their chances of winning amazing prizes including the 10 brand new Hyundai i10 salon cars.

Acting President of Awutu Traditional Council, Nai Pobee Abundam  VII, who received the gifts on behalf of the Paramount Chief,  commended MTN Ghana for their continued support towards the celebration of the Awubia festival.
