MCE reeling, as President Nana Addo terminates appointment
A Municipal Chief Executive in the Western Region, is reeling over his terminated appointment by the President.
It is rumored, the MCE was handed over his termination letter yesterday by the Regional Minister. Glimpse of information reaching our news desks reveals that, the embattled MCE was accused of dabbling in chieftaincy matters, and other intra-party conflicts in his constituency.
The MCE, according to our source was also charged for engaging in illegal mining activities in his area; a conduct considered an affront to the President’s initiative in sanitizing the small scale mining sector.
A determination was made by the President during a cabinet meeting over the weekend. Several persuasive attempts were made by his sympathizers to get the President reconsider the decision but to no avail.
It is said, that some two other appointees (MMDCEs) are likely to suffer the same fate.
