John Mahama shouldn’t be blamed for writing a forward for Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi’s ‘Working with Rawlings’ Book, a senior political scientist with the University of Education Winnneba, Dr. Isaac Brako has argued.
Per his understanding of the scholarly work and politics, John Mahama did not err in penning a brief of the historical account of events captured in the book. Dr. Brako remarked that the content of the book could not be attributed to John Mahama, as a plot to denigrate the reputation of the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings.
He concluded that John Mahama would suffer no consequences of what is published in the book.
“It has no bearing on the party… its no wrong for the Presidential candidate to write the forward of the book. He’s not a co-author” he told Samuel Kojo Brace on the Jolly Breakfast Show.
Dr. Brako, however, entreated the NDC to refrain from entertaining any political discourse on the content of Prof. Ahwoi’s book, and rather focus on their political campaigning for the elections.
“They should set an agenda and stop dwelling on this. It’s better they match forward,” he noted.
Dr. Brako recounted that this isn’t the first time such a publication has been made, and for all intent, never made any significant change to the perceptions people had of those personalities that were targetted.
