The Sekondi Magistrate Court B has requested for the CCTV footage of the Sekondi Police Station from the Divisional Police Commander from December 24th, to December 25th 2021.
This comes after Lawyer Ebo Donkor, counsel for the family of the deceased Fijai taxi driver, who died in police custody, prayed to the court that the footage is made available as it will play a significant role in ascertaining some facts in the case.
The Judge presiding over the case, Her Worship Rosemary Hayford agreed to his prayer and requested that the footage be made available today when the court resumes at 3 pm in the afternoon.
Also, Dr Isaac Erskine the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital Pathologist made available the full body measurements of the deceased Fijai taxi driver at the request of the court.
This comes after the court requested for the jeans trousers the deceased used to hang himself to commit suicide to be brought to court after which the Lawyer for the family of the deceased, Lawyer Ebo Donkor took a measurement of the waist which resulted in 35.5 inches.
The doctor’s measurement of the deceased waist however turned out to be 28 inches.
Also, four (4) police officers who had an encounter with the deceased have appeared before the court and gave their testimony as evidence to set out the facts of the alleged crime. These officers are General Corporal Kevin Makafui, General Lance Corporal Osei Yamoah, Lance Corporal Larassi and Sergeant Silvester Worlanyo.
