Kwesimintsim MP donate items to support COVID19 fight
Member of Parliament for Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region, Joseph Mensah, has donated sanitary materials to some residents and all health facilities in the constituency. The items which are meant to support the constituency fight the Novel Coronavirus, included detergents, alcohol-based hand sanitizers and veronica buckets at a cost of GHC 45,000.
The beneficiary health facilities include, Kwesimintsim Government hospital, Assakae CHIPS compound and the Anaji Health Center. Mpatado, Asakae, Whindo, Apremdo and Kwasimintin lorry stations, Kwasimintim, Anaji Market and Anaji police station also received part of the donation.
Speaking moments after the donation, Joe Mensah applauded health workers in the constituency while underscoring the importance of observing personal hygiene.
“As a member of parliament, it is my responsibility to ensure the well-being of my constituents, and in these times, this is what I have to do. I would like to ask my constituents to observe good personal hygiene. Ghana needs every citizen alive and, in this moment, the biggest threat to our lives is COVID-19 and we cannot allow the virus to spread any further than it already has. That’s why we have to wash our hands as often as possible with soap and under running water, practice social distancing, and for as much as possible stay at home’’ he said.
He also applauded the efforts of Health officials in the Metropolis, while encouraging them to continue working hard.
‘‘I would like to show my appreciation to our health officials. This donation is not only to support their work but also to show in deed that we believe they are doing a good job and this is our way of asking them to continue same. While we thank them for their continued diligence, I would like to ask them to work hard now more than ever’’ he concluded,” Mr. Joseph Mensah Indicated.
