The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital CEO, Dr. Daniel Asare has tested positive to the novel coronavirus.
According to media reports, he has not been working for the past weeks, and has since not been coming to the office as he used to.
The Medical Doctor for Korle Bu, Dr. Ali Samba who is the National Coordinator Ghana COVID-19 Management team, has been acting as the CEO now. Some workers in his office have isolated themselves from other co-workers.
This is not the first time a front line worker has contracted the novel coronavirus. The Minister of Health, Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu has contracted the virus and he’s under isolation at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
There has been a report that the Minister of Education, Hon Matthew Opoku Prempeh is also under self isolation for allegedly contracting the virus.
As it stands now, Ghana’s case count on the virus is 14,568 cases with 10,907 recoveries and 95 deaths.
