Kofi Kinaata demands Sleeky’s apology over latter’s defamatory behaviour
Lawyers for one of Ghana’s finest music stars, Kofi Kinaata, and his Team Move Management have issued a demand notice on Sadick Assah, the Chief Executive Officer of Sleeky Promotion following the latter’s recent Facebook publications which the artiste considers as defamatory to his reputation, and that of his Management.
According to Lawyer Philip Fiifi Buckman, Lawyer for Kinaata and his Management, Mr. Assah has resorted to Facebook to attack the artiste and His Management, and again publishing matters of defamation to his hard-won reputation.
“Ours inform us that by dint of hard work has attained international recognition. He informs us that you have subscribed to Facebook and you have privately been using your page to attack ours and the TEAM MOVE Management and as if same is not enough have been publishing matters defamatory to the hard-won reputation of ours,” the demand notice read.
The demand notice requires Mr. Assah, who is popularly known as Sleeky, to do two things; to write personally to Kinaata to apologise, and to publish the apology on his wall as well.
“Our instructions which we hereby do is to demand that you cause an unqualified apology to ours by personally writing to him and publishing on your page and you have not later than 22nd May 2020 so to do without more,” the notice read.
Kinaata’s Lawyer warned that failure on the part of Mr. Assah to apologise within the specified time will necessitate them having to resort to the law court to settle this impasse.
“Take notice and notice is hereby given to you that should you fail to accede to this demand notice by the time herein set, we shall not hesitate but promptly sue you in court for the necessary remedies,” the notice read.
Sadick Assah posted the summons on his personal Facebook page after it was delivered to him, adding that he will respond at the appropriate time.
“A demand Notice was delivered to me by a policeman this evening during my live interview on Cheers FM in connection with a Facebook banter between myself and Kofi Kinaata and the TEAM MOVE TEAM. The contents are well noted and I’ll address them at the appropriate time. Check it out,” he wrote on his Facebook wall.
