Vanessa Gyan who is the daughter of a former member of Osibisa group, Kiki Gyan, is not happy with The Ghana Music Rights Organisation, GHAMRO, over the exclusion of her father on the list of musicians entitled to royalties from their music.
Vanessa who is a television personality indicated other members of the Osibisa band have been captured in the database of GHAMRO without the inclusion of her father.
She revealed that her father hasn’t received royalties even though the band’s songs are still being played in Ghana.
Her concerns come after the former chairman of GHAMRO announced on GTV on Tuesday that there have been some disbursements which revealed that Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale was the highest earner with GHc30,000.
She took to her Twitter page to make these claims.
Kiki Djan, was a renowned keyboardist among the Ghanaian music band, Osibisa which was popular in the 1970s.
Kiki Gyan was also known for his disco records. He was a prodigy who could play the keyboard exceptionally well.
Kiki Gyan died on June 19, 2004.
