Kikam SDA Church awards educational scholarship to 20 students
Twenty basic school pupils aged between 8 to 18 years-old have been granted a year educational scholarship by the Adventist Church-Kikam District in the Western Region to facilitate their smooth academic studies.
The twenty students successfully excelled in the just ended “Love Is A Verb” initiative by the Kikam District Seventh-Day Adventist Church to inculcate the habit of learning by reading into the children. Its worth mentioning that the 20 students falls within the four basic schools of the district.
The initiative offered a platform to educationist in the church to inform, encourage and inspire young people to strive for excellence in the formal and informal educational sector to better their lives.
The program, which was held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the Kikam SDA Church was graced by Elder Kofi Mensah who is the Regional Manager of SDA schools as well as Pastor Joshua Kaku who is the Director, Youth/Possibility Ministries SWGC. Other important dignitaries who were present at the ceremony include headteachers of Basic Schools, Government officials, Parents, Teachers and Staff.
Parents expressed appreciation to the church for the gesture, and pleaded for more support from other cooperate and individual sponsors to compliment the effort of the church.
The church however “wish to express it sincere gratitude to all who have contributed to the success of this program. To all Elders, Leaders, and church members of the Kikam District, to Mr and Mrs Kwaw, our youth patrons, to Mr. Winfred Ampong, to Elder Rex Obeng, to Deborah Obeng-Andor and her team, to the young people who believed in this dream, and to all well-wishers and loved ones. Thank you all, and please continue to support the district in any way you can. We will get there”, the statement added.
