Joe Ghartey’s NDC-contender a ‘threat’ but we will win- WR NPP Chair assess chances in Dec 7

It appears the New patriotic Party (NPP) will have to battle fiercely with their political opponent; the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to retain its parliamentary seat in the Essikado-Ketan Constituency of the Western Region.

Chairman of the NPP in the Western Region, Mr. Francis Ndede Siah admits their representative, Joe Ghartey, who has served the constituency for sixteen good years, may have to compete fiercely with Dr. Grace Ayensu Dankwa; the parliamentary candidate of the NDC in the Essikado-Ketan Constituency.

He assessed that the opponent has since her introduction into the Ghanaian politics, amassed certain confidence in the NDC fraternity, and that threatening to sway some supporters of the other political circles to her victory.

Albeit it, Mr. Ndede Siah believes, their candidate; Joe Ghartey, will make it through, as the Parliamentarian for the constituency in coming election.

He also highlighted in a more candid opinion, that the Sekondi legislator; Andrew Egyapa Mercer may find himself in the same circumstance as Joe Ghartey.

Mr. Ndede Siah continued that their parliamentarians in the Jomoro, Tarkwa Nsuaem, and Shama Constituencies will need to amp their game lest lose to their opponent in the NDC. He stressed that the party will have to intensive its political strategies to retain these seats in the 2020 parliamentary elections.

Counting on their political fortunes, the Chairman indicated that all thirteen parliamentary seats of the NPP will be retained, whiles they marshal political strategies to win additional two seats from the NDC, come December 7, 2020.
