The Head of Ghana Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur together with his Chief Director, Mr. Opong Mensah have both signed the book of condolence opened for the family of the late Jerry John Rawlings.
As traditions demand, one needs to write in a book of condolence in honour and memory of a deceased person.
The Head of Local Government and his Chief Director signed the book this afternoon at Accra International Conference Center open by the family of the late Jerry John Rawlings to commiserate with them.
Ex-President Rawlings died November 12, 2020, at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
In his tribute, the Head of Local Government Service, Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur stated “We salute you as the architect of the current decentralization and local government system that began in 1988 as per PNDCL 207. This singular act has become the development tool for the nation, Ghana.
You will be sorely missed. May your soul rest in perfect peace.”
He added that, the demise of the former President Rawlings should deepen the peace and love Ghanaians are enjoying today.
