With most teams not having youth teams as their feeder teams, they always resort to teams in the lower tiers to recruit players.
Aside from a league competition there are always going to be teams that will be relegated in the top leagues and then a promotion from the lower tiers to replace but a whole lot goes on in those lower leagues.
Young and enterprising coach, Bismark Kobi-Mensah, the current coach for Ghana Premier side Karela United has stated he wishes not to coach again in the Ghana Division One League.
The coach of the Nzema based club who has had spells at Hasaacas, Samatex and other teams have no plans to coach in the division again.
He said, “The best teams or teams that play the best of football do not qualify but only teams that do the best of ‘football operations’ qualify in the division”.
He continued by saying the violent nature that is hooliganism is too much in the division and that is also a big problem for teams.
To mention few of these degrees of violence at match venues are B.A United – RTU game when referee Maxwell Hanson was beaten, central referee Niatire Suntuo Aziz, his assistants Suleman Mohammed and Yakubu Abdul Rahman, and fourth referee Hasim Yakubu were assaulted in a Ghana Division One League game between Wamanafo Mighty Royals and Tano Bofoakwa and other incidents.
