Hasaacas Ladies secure semi final slot after tearing AS Police De Niamey apart in WAFU tournament
It was a make or break for the Ghanaian champions Hasaacas Ladies as they battled their Nigerien counterpart AS Police de Niamey in Abidjan at the Stade Robert Champroux in Abidjan.
Hasaacas took the lead in the 22nd minutes following a mishap between the Nigerien goalkeeper Aishatu Simpson and captain Falmatta Mamadou Aissami of which Hasacaas striker Doris Boaduwaa who was lurking scored a Fillippo Inzaghi-esque goal.
The Nigerien’s squandered a penalty which could have brought their chances of qualification alive but in additional time in the first half, Milot Abena Pokuaa’s powerful header from a lovely cross by Doris Boaduwaa doubled Hasaacas Ladies lead.
The Nigerien’s kept on pushing but in the 72nd minutes, Milot Abena Pokuaa, put the icing on the tasty cake for Hasaacas Ladies which altered the scoreline to 3.
This means, Hasaacas will now play the winner of Group A and that is USFA from Burkina Faso on Monday 3:30pm as the first semi final, whereas Rivers Angels United from Nigeria host their Togolese counterpart Amis Du Monde 7pm.
