Mr Joseph Simons Cudjoe, the Western Region Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union has expressed worry over the implementation of the road closure for the construction of the PTC interchange in Takoradi
According to him, the implementation has been haphazardly characterized by chaotic scenes within the central business district.
In an exclusive interview with Skyy News, Mr Cudjoe said there was no proper planning and implementation guide resulting in several cases of breaches on the part of drivers, adding that the police have also not been held in maintaining law and order in the wake of the road closure.
“There was a case in which a driver was moving his car with a policeman lying on his bonnet, leading to the driver been slapped with a two-year jail sentence,” he said.
He added further that the police personnel should be apprehended too.
“I think the police personnel involved should be arrested to because he could have captured the drivers car number instead of lying on his bonnet. He said even though the driver was at fault they should also deal with the inappropriate actions of the police personnel,” he said.
