Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Agric Director, Mr Joseph Otoo says the government has provided certified seeds for farmers as part of its flagship program planting and food program.
He said maize farmers especially can get direct access to seeds from the Agric Offices or any Agro input dealers authorized and accredited by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
Mr Joseph advised farmers to always get the approved seeds from the accredited agencies rather than relying on people who have little or no knowledge of proper seeds for planting.
The Agric Director said this in an interview with the media at Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region. He said the farming season has commenced and farmers should contact the extension officers for directions to get high yields.
He said, “Through the intervention of the government, there is the availability of certified seeds for farmers who would want to plant maize in this raining season.”
“He said maize farmers especially can get direct access to seeds from the Agric Offices or any Agro input dealers authorized and accredited by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and they should not hesitate to do that.”
