Goldfields Unveiled as Headline Sponsor for WRIT 2019

Mining giants, Goldfields Ghana has been Unveiled today, as the headline sponsor for the maiden Western Region Invitational Tournament scheduled for 21st to 29th September. The ceremony was held at the investment Center at the Western Regional Coordinating Council Secretariat.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Western Regional Sports Committee under whose auspices the tournament is being organized, Honourable Wilson Arthur said it’s the vision of the Regional Minister and his outfit to rekindle the sports economy in the region, set standards in football Organization in the region and the country as a whole. He said the Committee is grateful to Goldfields for investing in the tournament and promised the Organizers will put together a very memorable tournament that will give the sponsors great mileage.

Francis Eduku, Vice President and head of Human Resource at Goldfields said his outfit sees Football as a great source of development for the country. According to him, the love for the growth and development of football drive Goldfields to sponsor the Black Stars which culminated into the team qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in 2006. He said Goldfields is delighted to partner the Western Region Sports Committee to Organize the tournament and look forward to a long term partnership.
