The General Manager, Sustainability, at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh has disclosed that the social investment arm of the organisation; GNPC Foundation, has awarded in total four thousand (4,000) scholarships to indeginous Ghanaians students to pursue education at various levels.
According to him, the organisation had prioritized support for beneficiaries in their host communities and the Western Region at large, in awarding these schilarships since 2017, under the political adminstration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He noted that the commitment to the region as promised is to grant at least a thirty pecentage (30%) of each scholarship package to beneficiaries in the Western Region.
“that the commitment has always been ensuring a fair representation of indegins,” Dr. Baah-Nuakoh stressed.
He added that each and every beneficiary is support on condition they return to serve their home communities, “and that is how we impacting the lives of the people”

Adding to this, the Executive Director for GNPC, Dr. Dominic Eduah indicated that initiatives taken thus far has been evenly spread.
He mentioned that the new crop of leadership is development oriented, “and that I can confidently say”
So far the GNPC in transitioning into a second phase of its investment in the region beging with the construction of an ultra-modern Operational Headquarters in Takoradi. This he argued lies within the manifesto of the New Patriotic Party.
Dr. Eduah stressed that more and enhanced support schemes are in the offing to making their agenda of impacting 10 million lives within a five year period.
