Students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism are demonstrating against the school authorities, after asking students who made late payment for their school fees to defer their programme.
An official statement released by the school on Monday, March 22, 2021, sparked
an outrage by the students on social media. It caught up with the general public to also
express their displeasure by the measures taken by the school and not considering the
fact that, we are in a pandemic and people have been affected badly.
Students are demonstrating against the authorities at the school premises which the Ghana Police Service have gotten involved, as things may turn ugly.
The school gates were closed in the early hours of the morning before the students could access the campus as the school authorities had information there will be a demonstration.
However, some public personalities have shared their public opinion on the current issue, as to why the school have to defer students for making late payments which is not the right thing to do. They believe we are all feeling the effects of the pandemic and the school should be a bit considerate with their decisions on the students.
