Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Elmina Sharks played out a goalless draw on Thursday in the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu named an unchanged team from the side that beat Karela United last Friday but were unable to break a Sharks team that is unbeaten in the past five league matches.
Despite failing to win, Kotoko remains in 4th place on 25points and Sharks in 5th on 22points.
In Dansoman, Liberty Professionals suffered a shock 2-3 defeat to Inter Allies. Inter Allies raced into a shock lead after Samuel Armah prodded home on the 23rd minute before the league’s top scorer, Victorien Adebayor fired home from point-blank range two minutes later. Liberty’s George Ansong restored hope for the home side after reducing the deficit just before the interval. Ansong completed his brace of goals to pull the home side level after 62minutes before Mohammed Zakari broke hearts with the clincher on the cusp of full time.
Inter Allies are now 10th on the league table with 19points following the result, while Liberty Professionals drop to 13th on 16points.
