President Nana Addo in poster on his facebook page, has provided a breakdown of how the GH¢54 million cost was arrived at. In that poster as shared below [read item 9], the state incurred a cost of over 2.74 million cedis in providing clocked and dry (uncooked) food packs to beneficiaries in the Greater Accra, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi.

He went further to explain that some GH¢50.2 million were transferred to beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) in these lockdown areas.

“Over 2.74 million cooked and dry food packs provided to vulnerable persons in Accra and Kumasi as well as GH¢50.2 million transferred to 400,000 LEAP beneficiaries during lockdown period.”
