Ellembele NPP Primaries: Bonzo K wins again!
Delegates of the New Patriotic Party in the Ellembele Constituency of the Western Region have granted Mr. Kwasi Bonzo another victory as the Parliamentary candidate for the 2020 parliamentary election.
He polled a total of 359 votes of the 632 votes cast in today’s primary, held at Nkroful.
His votes represented 56.8 percent of the entire votes cast. Mr Kwasi Bonzo by this confirmation will be contesting the 2020 parliamentary election for the third time, against the National Democratic Congress’ candidate Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah.
The other candidates; Anna Horma Akaisi Miezah and Isaac Menlah, polled 262 and 9 votes respectively, with only 2 rejected votes.
Mr Bonzo has served as the District Chief Executive for the Ellembele District since 2017.
He is by this election convinced of wrestling political power from Mr. Armah Buah.
“We’ve worked hard for it. We’ve been in the trenches, and I believe the delegates have spoken.
“The next thing for us is to match up against the NDC and win his seat for the first time for the New Patriotic Party” he said with excitement.
He admitted the contest wasn’t that easy, adding “I want to thank the other aspirants for making me stronger”
“Infact they gave me a run for my money. They worked very hard.. at some point the people even thought they could unseat me. But God has spoken” he said.
Mr Bonzo assured of working with the other aspirants for the good of the party and for victory in 2020.
“… I have been playing the singular role in the previous elections but this time I have three more. I will bring everybody on board. The ultimate is to win the seat. Until we have won this seat, we will never relent” he reiterated.
