EC will compile a new register, boycott that one too- WR NPP Chair dares NDC
Western Region Chair of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Francis Ndede Siah has dared the opposition National Democratic Congress to boycott the upcoming voter registration exercise to be conducted by the Electoral Commission, just as they did in the just ended State of the Nation address delivered by the President.
He challenged the NDC not to participate in the exercise, if they so believe and are worthy to be trusted, that their claim on the President, Nana Akuffo Addo as a dictator and threat to democratic governance, is indeed valid.
“The EC is going to compile an new voters register. The NDC has started their usual propaganda, just to buy time. They only want to frustrate the process.
“I dare them not to get their people registered. Boycott this exercise too and see. They will be in opposition for twenty to fifty years” he said.
The NDC has been persistent in their protest of the EC’s intention to compile a new voters register this year. According to the NDC, the exercise is purely an attempt by the ruling NPP to manipulate the EC and the voters’ register, so they could rig the 2020 general elections.
Taking cognizance of the impending challenge and the political- extremism championed by the NDC, Mr. Ndede Siah charged the youth and party men to commit all their might to secure a second term for Nana Addo and the NPP parliamentarians and candidates, come December 7.
“Truth be told, this is not an easy battle. We need to work hard to protect the ballot, to protect our votes”
Mr. Ndede Siah made these remarks at the Wassa East Constituency Youth Conference, held in Daboase.
