Chief of Dompim Pepesa in the Tarkwa Nusem municipality of the western region, Ohyeawora Bianyowa IV is urging the president, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffu Addo to fix the deplorable Tarkwa Ahwitieso road, so as to avoid any further agitations from the people.

Ohyeawora Bianyowa IV cried that construction works on the road has been stalled over the years owing to government’s inability to finance the project.

Residents of Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality have again threatened to embark on another massive demonstration on 30 July,2019 to protest over the poor state of their roads.

Ohyeawora Bianyowa IV believes government is capable of making monies available in ensuring the road is fixed. He implored government to release funds to the contractor to enable to him complete the project.

“We are therefore pleading with the minister to help construct the Tarkwa roads. We will plead with the regional minister and His Excellency the president, the minister for roads and highways together with the minister for finance to help fix the deplorable Tarkwa roads- from Awetieso to Bogoso junction.. The numerous demonstrations by the people is not in bad faith… please find the monies to fix it”, he said.

For his part, the Western Regional minister, Mr. Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah indicated that, the president is most particular about fixing the road, adding “government is working around the clock to ensure the project is completed before close of year’, he added.
