The Deputy Electoral Commission Director in the Western Region, Mr Ofori Prempeh says electoral areas that did not hold the District Level elections on Tuesday in the region will hold theirs on Thursday.
In the Western Region, 3 electoral areas did not participate in the district-level elections for several reasons.
Areas that did not hold elections in the Western Region were Effiakuma West, Sabo Zongo and an electoral area in the Ellembelle Constituency.
At Sabo Zongo, the positions of candidates were seen mixed up on the ballot paper leading to the postponement of the election. The two other areas had a court injunction from aspiring assembly members for reasons that were unsatisfactory to them.
Mr Prempeh related the ballot paper mixed up to a printing mistake and also clarified that all court injections have been cleared by the court.
The Western Regional Deputy Electoral Commission Director, Mr Ofori Prempeh speaking to Skyy News clarified that votes accumulated by the deceased candidate will be counted as rejected ballots.
