On Saturday, 24 September 2022, the Daboase Senior High Technical School (SHTS) held its induction and graduation ceremony.
The colourful ceremony was under the theme “GO FORTY AND CHANGE THE WORLD, BUT REMEMBER WHERE YOU STARTED”.
The former Western Regional director of education, Mr Nii Lantey Cleland who chaired the program applauded the headmistress for her tremendous effort in changing the state of the school. He tasked her to continue working with her head and heart to change the fortunes of the school for the better.
In all, 350 students graduated with 188 being male and 162 female. The headmistress for the school, madam Irene Rebecca Ampaw cautioned all graduates to live what the school has impacted on them where ever they find themselves.
Speaking to the media, Mrs Ampaw acknowledged all parents and alumni for their cooperation. She said, the school after thirty years, lacks a lot of facilities like a teachers’ bungalow, ICT laboratory, science laboratory etc. She, therefore, appealed to stakeholders to come to their aid with the dining hall complex and school bus.
Dr Frederick Boakye Yiadom who is the board chairman for the school and also an indigene of the area appealed to parents to choose the school as their preferred choice. He said he has been using his position as the board chairman for the school and a lecturer at Takoradi Technical University to solicit for free admission for students who want to study at the University.
He further appealed to all philanthropists and especially indigenes to come and support the school for its betterment.
