COVID19: Positive cases in Ghana now 1671 with 188 recoveries.

Ghana’s confirmed cases of the Novel Coronavirus infection now stands at 1,671, 188 recoveries and 16 deaths. This was disclosed by the Ghana Health Service in a press briefing.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday at the Ministry of Information, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, indicated that 563 of the infected were from general surveillance. 1,461 of the number are currently well with no symptoms.

Out of the total cases, Dr Kuma-Aboagye said six patients are “critically ill” with two of them at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), three at Ga East Municipal Hospital and one at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

On the number of casualties, the Director-General also disclosed that Ghana has recorded five new deaths from the disease raising the death toll to 16.
